Alan Gibbs

Alan Gibbs lectures in American literature at University College Cork, Ireland. His 2014 monograph, Contemporary American Trauma Narratives (Edinburgh University Press) won the Irish Association for American Studies’ 2015 Peggy O’Brien Prize. His current research focuses predominantly on naturalism in contemporary American culture. He has published articles on contemporary naturalist writers including Lionel Shriver and Cormac McCarthy and on TV series including The Wire and The Shield (forthcoming).
